Madonna has shown her unremitting support for Britney Spears, insisting that the media needs to "step off" the troubled singer.
In a recent interview with the “Yo on E!" satellite radio show, Madonna urged everyone to save the fading pop star. "They need to step off. For real...Let's go save her," E! Online quoted her, as telling the radio show.
The ‘Material Girl" singer revealed that Spears remains the favourite artist of her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes. Madonna, who"s married to film director Guy Ritchie, added that Lourdes “gets the drift of what"s going on, and I think she feels very protective of Britney."
She also insisted that like her daughter, she also remains a supporter of the beleaguered star.
Madonna recently revealed that she enjoys listening to Spears' Blackout album while exercising.
Britney and Madonna famously locked lips on the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards and collaborated on the song "Me Against the Music."
Madonna also said that she plans to spend the summer in New York and may go on tour in the fall to promote her new album, Hard Candy, due to be out April 29.
