Cher tells Oprah of fling with Tom Cruise

In what has to be one of the oddest couplings in showbiz history, veteran performer Cher has reportedly revealed on an upcoming Oprah Winfrey show that she had a brief fling with actor Tom Cruise.

According to the Daily Mail, not only did the singer fall madly in love, but she has revealed Tom was just 23-years-old at the time of the affair.

At 39, Cher was 16 years Tom's senior when the couple met in the 80s during the early years of his career and shortly after the release of his hit film Risky Business.

The paper reported that Cher, now 61, told Oprah Winfrey: "I was crazy about him."

In the show, which will go to air in the US next month, she spoke of Cruise, now 45, as an awkward young man who was struggling to adjust to his new life, the paper revealed.

"He was shy," she said.

"He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school.

"He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.

"It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him," Cher said.

It was recently announced Tom Cruise would be appearing on another Oprah Winfrey show.

His previous appearance resulted in the actor becoming the butt of jokes after he jumped on the talkshow host's couch declaring his love for then-girlfriend Katie Holmes.

She said: "It was one of those things that was happening but that we tried to pretend was not happening for a long time. Len and I were both with other people at the time, and the whole thing was really difficult.

"We made the film, and it wasn't until after it had finished that it finally dawned on me how much I liked him. I knew within five minutes of kissing Len that I would marry him."

Kate - who has a nine-year-old daughter Lily from her relationship with Michael - is thankful Len and Michael get on well, because it makes life easier for her and Lily.

She added: "Len and Michael got along very well before Len and I got together because they already had a good working relationship, and they both liked each other anyway."

Life can't get more scandalous than this for Heather Mills - a former prostitute has claimed that she and the former model used to work as high-class call girls. Denise Hewitt, who made the claim, added that the late media magnate Kerry Packer was Paul McCartney's ex-wife's 'sugar daddy'.

In an explosive Channel 4 documentary, Hewitt has claimed that she worked with Mills as escorts in London in the 1980s. Mills, whose 52 million dollars divorce settlement with Macca was finalized earlier this year, has previously denied any involvement in prostitution.

"We went into high-class prostitution behind closed doors and nobody knew about it," The Daily Telegraph quoted Hewitt, as saying in the interview, reported by The Daily Mail.

"(Adnan) Kashoggi, Kerry Packer and one of the Royal princes of Saudi, they were the big fish and there were a couple of others that were classed as Heather's sugar daddies.

"We used to get a lot of jewellery as gifts - rings, watches, Bulgari bracelets, cars. The world was our oyster. We enjoyed it.

"No one knew what we did and we didn't expect it to come out. I don't look on it as sleazy. It was experiencing something we couldn't have experienced if we hadn't done this.

"I mean working class women don't get 10,000 pounds a night. People go out in Newcastle and do it for free, but then can't remember who they've done it with." The 44-year-old added that Mills was a master at manipulating people.

"Heather knows how to play people, she's very clever, she's got an X factor with men, for some reason. They just fall madly in love with her, and I take my hat off to her because she manipulates people and they're besotted, like enchanted, you know - like she throws fairy dust all over them," she said.

According to Hewitt, Mills manipulated McCartney into marrying her by giving him an ultimatum.

Mills said, 'I'll give him an ultimatum and if he doesn't marry me within say eight months, ten months, I'm going to leave him'."

She said Mills often talked degradingly about McCartney before she married him. She said stuff like, "Well look at me, I'm marrying an old man with bigger b**bs than me.

'Violated' mother Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey would feel "violated" if she had children.

The 38-year-old music star wouldn't feel comfortable becoming a mother, and is more than happy looking after her pet dog Jack.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "I never wanted to feel violated and I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am. It's definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff.

"It's hard to have kids in this world. I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it. For now, I enjoy my dog Jack's company."

Last year, Mariah revealed she would never consider having a baby if she wasn't married.

The 'Touch My Body' singer said: "If I were to have a child, I would want to be married with a stable family environment. Not to say that's how everyone has to do it but it's the way I want to do things.

"My parents divorced when I was young and I'm not saying it was unstable but it's not ideal either."

Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham's friendship has become "strained", because of the singer's new Hollywood friends.

After becoming very close when Victoria moved to Los Angeles last year, Katie is now allegedly annoyed the Spice Girl is choosing to spend most of her time with new friends Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale.

A source close to the pair told Britain's Star magazine: "Until recently, the Beckhams were bosom buddies with Katie and her husband Tom Cruise. But there is now a clear rift between them, and Victoria has made it clear that Eva and Kate are her new chief allies in Los Angeles.

"Tensions have been brewing ever since Katie took offence to everyone saying that because she's changed her hair, lost weight and started dressing more glamorously, she was morphing into Posh. So she took a step back, and the girls' friendship has cooled off significantly."

Victoria's spokesperson has denied there are problems between the two stars, insisting: "Tom and Katie and David and Victoria were all out for dinner together last Friday (18.04.08)."

The foursome went to Santa Monica restaurant Via Veneto to celebrate Victoria's 34th birthday with Eva, Kate, Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale and Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.
