Chris Noth will reprise his role as Mr. Big in the 'Sex and the City' movie.
After weeks of speculation, Noth has delighted fans of the hit US TV show by signing a deal which will see his character reunited with his on-screen love Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
The film's writer-and-director Michael King said: "I am happy to report that Mr. Big is alive and well and living in New York City!"
It was previously reported the big screen adaptation of the TV show would focus on Mr. Big's death, rather than his marriage to the newspaper columnist.
The final series of 'Sex and the City' ended with Mr. Big flying to Paris to declare his love for Carrie and taking her back home to New York
Last month, it was confirmed the show's main stars - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Cattrall - had all agreed to reunite for a film.
The movie is scheduled to begin shooting in September in New York.
Parker recently revealed she can't wait to start filming the movie "very soon".
She said: "I really wanted it to happen a few years ago and it was a bitter pill to swallow that it didn't.
"But now it's happening, it's fantastic."
